Visiting Denver
Denver is a fantastic place to visit - we have no end of great places to stay, things to do, and restaurants to eat at. You'll find a list below with some of our favorites, and at the bottom of the page is an interactive map to show you where all these things are.
Based on where we're having our reception, we've picked an "official" hotel, but we've also listed some other hotels that are close to the action, so to speak. We tried to pick a range of amenities and prices, so hopefully you'll find a good fit for your needs. If you reserve outside of our group, please let us know where you'll be staying. We hope your visit to Denver is fabulous. If you have any questions about the town, please let us know, and we'd be happy to answer them for you.
Transportation
While we are not providing any official transportation, we have confirmed that the Loews does have some courtesy shuttle services. If you wish to use those services, we would recommend talking to them about it at the time you reserve your room or check-in.
However, we do recommend that in order to get the full experience of visiting Denver, that you do rent a car, either for yourself or to share.
Hotels
The Loews Denver Hotel 4150 East Mississippi Ave. Denver, Colorado 80246 Phone: (303) 782-9300 or (800) 345-9172 ~ Group Rate Information: The Loews is our "official" hotel. They have given us a fabulous group rate ($129.00 for a deluxe double or deluxe king, and $179.00 for their suites) and are holding a block of rooms for us, making them a very reasonable option, considering how nice the hotel is. To take advantage of the group rate, please have them book you in the "Pope/Becker Wedding Room Block." ~ About the Hotel: This hotel is right around the corner from our house. In fact, in the summer, it's probably even walking distance (about a mile on residential streets). The La Quinta Inn - Denver, Cherry Creek 1975 S. Colorado Blvd. Denver, Colorado 80222 Phone: (303) 758-8886 ~ About the Hotel: The La Quinta Inn is about a mile from the reception site. We don't have a group rate here, but their website rates range from $105.00 per night to $120.00 per night for regular rooms (not suites).
The Fairfield Inn & Suites Denver Cherry Creek 1680 South Colorado Blvd. Denver, Colorado 80222 Phone: (303) 691-2223 ~ About the Hotel: The Fairfield is another one that's about a mile from our house. We don't have a group rate here, either, but their website rates range from $90.00 per night to $105.00 per night.
Restaurants Sit-Down and Classier Fare - Barolo Grill - Barolo has the best northern Italian fare you could find, and a wine list to die for. - Bang! - Tess and Mike's favorite small, but classy, place to eat. Recommended originally by Tess's brother, this has become their favorite place to find a steak, sweet potato bread, and their famous home-made ketchup. - Deluxe - Where Mike took Tess on their first date, recommended by Chad and Tara, like Bang!, it's small, classy, and full of good food. - Lime - This might have been a better fit in the "Fun Times" Section, but all the same - great Mexican food, good atmosphere. Fun Times - Pete's Kitchen - Definitely a diner, but good food all the same. Looking for Greek? Take a friend and split their Greek Platter. We feed four with this one. - Kokoro Restaurant - Tess's long-standing favorite for "fast-food" Japanese. - Smiling Moose Deli - Healthy, better than a true chain, Smiling Moose is a local chain. Great wraps and sandwhiches. - Twin Dragons - also a cross-over, Twin Dragons is one of the last old-style Chinese restaurants - over the top decorating, great prices, great cuisine, and they have frou-frou drinks in fun cups. - Sputnick - Across the street from Deluxe, Sputnick has awesome corn dogs, sweet potato fries (get the Jalopeno jelly), and shrimp po' boys. A local hipster favorite.
